The Slovakian cartel authority has approved the unconditional purchase of Elektrovod Holding a.s. based in Bratislava by the German-based SAG Group. Once all outstanding requirements had been met, the changeover of owner to the SAG Group became effective on 28 January 2010.

Engineer, Dr. Joachim Hofmann, Director of the Utility Lines Division within SAG and person responsible for the Eastern Europe Business explains: "With the acquisition of Elektrovod Holding, SAG is continuing on its consistent plan of internationalisation. This allows for us to develop the trend of greater crosslinking of the European energy networks and to optimise our resources between the various markets”.
